FEZFEST (My View) The Dub Club were first on and were basically The Honey Shop Screamers having a reggae jam. This set the mood for the rest of the night, I don’t really have much of an opinion on DC, its not really the music I would choose to listen to but it is always good to see decent musicians playing what they want. Objectively I would say that DC are damn good, but I'm just not really into Reggae. Next up were KittyPop (not sure on the full title) I know this as Si and Wills white noise from Munkyfest. Again this is not what I would choose to listen to, some might say I don’t understand it, but I think I just don’t like it. However in saying that there were people in the crowd that enjoyed it so there must be something in it somewhere. It's just not for me! Now The Fucks take the stage. This is again Si and Will this time round they have guitars and are joined by drummer (and general Munkyfest organiser) Neil. This to me is a lot better than the previous act. There is a lot of energy on stage and the smashing of a guitar ends the set. Not a bad performance, but again not really managing to excite me. Not my thing! At this point in the night the stage is taken over by a band dressed in chemical protection suits. Hip Hop, You Don’t Stop and the Doppelgangers. This may be a totally bias view as I am in the band, but I loved it. I can only say that I enjoyed this immensely and I hope that the crowd liked it too. After months without being together it was great to get back to it again. We were joined by a guest member, I'm not entirely sure what he did, but he was there anyway. In case anyone is wondering the core HHYDSATD crew is made of 1 Jack-Off 2 Screamers and 2 independents. I have nothing more to say on this band. Next band on were The For Tomorrows. I have never seen or even heard of this band before FezFest. But they were absolutely amazing. The only member I recognised was Ally (don’t know how to spell his name) formally of the Splitpins. They played pretty regular rock music, but they played it well. The songs were catchy and sounded fresh. When the band left the stage there was a feeling that I had just seen a band that have talent, songs and deserve to go far. A damn fine performance, definitely one of the highlights of the night. Then come The Handy Jack-Offs. The band play well, I play shit. In case you don’t know I am the drummer from the Jack-Offs. Not one of our best performances, but it was fun and we got a chance to play with the newest edition to our ranks, Laura (previously with The Screamers) I don’t often remember things from our gigs so I cant say any more about it. I hope you enjoyed it and will come and see us again sometime.
