The 1999 Flintshire Challenge
Promoted by Flintshire Leisure Services and

Sunday 17th October

The 1999 Flintshire Challenge was a hugely popular event that offered riders a wonderful opportunity to view the North Wales countryside in marvellous autumn weather. Despite a lot of heavy rain in the weeks leading up to the day, the course was fast and manageable, yet still tough. A cool easterly wind was the only downside weather-wise, as bright sunshine beat down on the seven hundred participants over four courses, over two hundred of whom entered on the day! For this reason, at least one checkpoint (at Moel Arthur) ran out of drinks towards the end of the day - sorry folks!

I was one of the marshals at Moel Arthur, and took the opportunity to take a few photos - you might recognise yourself if you're lucky!
