Photographs by Darren Riley.
Barrow In Furness was, and still is, a heavy manufacturing town specialising in Ship-building and Marine Engineering. Little surprise, then, that it was a target for enemy bombers during WWII.
Entrance to a largeish underground air-raid shelter. The photographer reports visiting it many years previous, and found it to be full of water.
Emergency exit from the shelter, which is in one of the Shipyards' car - parks.
