WHERE THE GUNS WERE

Where the gun-floors stood.

The elephantine northern aspect of Oldside Ironworks slag-bank, once dominated by No: 2 Gun - the remains of which can be seen nestled in the cleft at the foot of the bank. Nothing much to look at now; a small square of concrete floor with brick-and-concrete wall still attached, having been dumped ignominiously over the edge to make way for the car-park.

The concrete terracing (No: 3 on the graphic) can be seen still in place at the foot of the embankment.
