The north end of bay 1 was the foundry maintenance bay, and the photograph below is taken looking south-west, from the steps above the Foreman Electrician's office. There is the Electric shop; the Pipe-Fitters' section; the Fitting shop, and just before the road into the foundry itself, the Boilermakers' shop.
