C.E.W (Central Engineering Workshops) and the Sinter Plant as seen from the Burmah Road bridge, at a point where the Solway Colliery track used to run over the Workington - Whitehaven line, alongside the road.
Note the shunters' cabin - a little brick hut along the track-side. A few oil-lamps lay around the other building, ready for attachment to wagons. The long brick building to the RHS of the picture was the Central Engineering Workshops
