Camp
Itinerary
On arrival, the campers will be
welcomed at Johannesburg International Airport by their tour
leader and our team of experienced South African and
international staff and chaperoned to the first resident camp in
the Mpumalanga province.
Nestling in a secluded valley on the banks of a sparkling
mountain stream, lie the chalets where evenings will be spent
around campfires, learning about Africa and its environment, and
experiencing the thrill of nocturnal sounds. Amongst the
mountains, indigenous forests and crisp-morning mists, they will
be exploring nature trails, going horse-riding and following
streams of crystal clear water. The campers will enjoy
"Africa" through Pottery, Dance and Music of the
African culture.
Sabie is a central
point to experience the breathtaking views of the Blyde River
Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the tantalising nostalgia of
the bygone era at Pilgrim's Rest. Winter in the wild is
unforgettable and a unique experience awaits you at the
world-famous Kruger National Park, with its abundant wildlife and
unforgettable sunsets.
With our "mission" in mind, Fellowship and Diversity,
the campers will be able to teach everyone about the cultures of
their own countries through song, dance and entertainment.
The next resident camp is tucked away on the waters' edge of the
magnificent Eastern Cape coast (birthplace of Nelson Mandela), a
quaint village of chalets. A perfect little coastal paradise
providing beauty and the opportunity to participate in various
sport, beach and watersport activities. The ultimate ethnic
experience will be visiting an African Village to experience the
lifestyle of the African culture.
Horse-riding, hiking trails and walks along the beach allow them
to appreciate the beauty of the Wild Coast, while also exploring
and experiencing the unique and special creatures that live at an
estuary. Along the beach is an old wreck of a ship that ran
ashore many years ago.
The group will depart from the camp (with a visit to a pineapple
farm) through the Tsitiskama Forest via Nature's Valley to the
beautiful Garden Route and to the lakes of Knysna. They will also
visit the world-renowned Cango Caves, an Ostrich Farm and the
Cheetah and Crocodile Farm in Oudtshoorn. One can appreciate
nature while mountain biking through the forests in the area.
Then it's on to the Mother
City, Cape Town, through the magnificent fruit-growing
countryside. To end their stay in this beautiful country, the
group will go where "the two oceans meet", visit Table
Mountain, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Robben Island. (Robben Island
has been a post box, farm, whaling station, gunnery platform,
lunatic asylum, leper colony and prison.)
After spending some time buying gifts from South Africa, they bid
their new friends from abroad farewell and journey safely back
home.
