Remedy Utilities

Form and Field Properties Viewer

ARFields is a small free utility for Remedy which allows you to view the database structure of your remedy tables. In other words, you can see the Txxx number of each table, and the Cxxxxxxxxx number of each field in the table. In addition you can select which types of fields to view, such as only selection fields or diary fields, and whether to view real fields, display only fields or both.

It is particularly useful information for those who wish to report from Remedy tables using standard database ODBC drivers as it allows you to identify quickly the correct database table and column names. It also allows you to try to maintain consistent field numbering across forms so that workflow can be shared.

Calendar and Appointments Scheduler

This is a small application which incorporates the Calendar widget to provide a means to book appointments and other tasks in Remedy in a Scheduler application. It is designed to be used with Remedy server version 4.5.1. The zip file also includes a version which may work on version 4.0.x (but is untested).

The application allows you to view appointments by user, and checks for conflicting times, sends reminders, etc.

Calendar Widget

This is a small Calendar application designed to be used with Remedy version 4.5.1. It may also work with versions 4.0.1, 4.0.2 and 4.0.3.

I believe this calendar will work with any database and operating system, and will not be affected by the date format in your regional settings. It contains six different language versions. Instructions for installing and using the calendar are included in the readme file.

Password Changer

A small Remedy utility to allow users to be able to change their own passwords. It confirms the current password before asking for the new password to be entered twice. Users with read-only licences are able to use it, as well as those with write licences, and all password inputs are masked by asterixes. It prompts the user to re-login with the new password after the change is made.

Sample of a View Form to update foreign database table

This is a sample use of a View Form in Remedy version 5.x which allows the MS SQL sample database Northwind.Customers to be accessed from within Remedy.  An intermediate database view is used to convert the data types to those accessible by Remedy, and it also  uses direct SQL in active links to allow you to update and insert records in the foreign table.

Sample Outlook form for submitting tickets to Remedy

This is a sample outlook form which submits a new TT to Remedy, based loosely on samples which were posted on the arslist. Have a look at the following (open the form and select Tools...Design Outlook form) - there are separate Compose and Read pages - the Compose page is the 'user-friendly' version, while the Read page only has the information needed by Remedy. Then look at the VB code (Form...View Code) to see how the menus are set and how the Read page gets populated with the user input for Remedy.
