Saturday - I was woken up ridiculously early. Nigel took me a walk then we all got in the car. I had a bit of a nap and woke when we stopped at a place called motorway services. Nigel and Sarah said I'd been asleep for over 2 hours... surely not! After a little walk and a drink we all got back in the car. When I next woke up we had stopped at some houses in a place called Barrow-in-Furness. I was greeted by several new people which was a little overwhelming but I just tried to stay close to Sarah & Nigel. After my weetabix I had a nap. We then went for a walk with a pretty little golden retriever (she fancied me rotten!). Saw some swans but I found them very scary as there were lots of them and they were very loud. After the walk I settled down for a nap. Spent most of the day relaxing - with the occasional new person to meet. After my evening walk everyone went out so I had a nap. Nigel came back after a couple of hours and Sarah came back a bit later.
Sarah's mum and her friend Christine came back very late (3.30). Christine went outside and left the doors open so I took this opportunity to explore Barrow. Sarah came out in a dressing gown and called me over but as I was running towards her I thought it would be great fun to swerve at the last minute and run right onto the road. A car was coming and luckily it went past just before I got to it. It did serve as a great pacemaker though and I kept up with it for some distance. When I slowed down I realised I was actually lost. A car came by and stopped, I heard my name being called but I wasn't sure what to do so I decided to run a bit more. The car followed me down a lane and through the gates of a factory. I realised I was fenced in and the man in the car was coming closer. It was Nigel, when I realised this I ran over to him and jumped into the car. He seemed quite anxious as did Sarah when we saw her walking down the road. After a bit of a fuss, we all went home to bed.
Sunday - Everyone seemed quite tired, can't imagine why. After breakfast we went to a place called 'the beach'. There was a really noisy grey thing called the sea! I couldn't take my eyes off it. We went for a closer look but I was not keen. A king charles spaniel came bouncing over, I took a dislike to that too (thank goodness for muzzles). After popping in to visit more new people we went back to Sarah's mum's house. After tea we went to another beach but the sea here was a long way away, the sand was much softer and I had a nice run with Nigel. I like the beach!
Monday - After breakfast we packed up and set off in the car. When I woke up we were at another strange house. This house had two other dogs Kiri and Audi- both girls! Kiri is a lovely girl (collie cross I think) and she took a great deal of interest in me. Kiri and Audi played in the large garden but I wasn't sure whether to join in or not. I saw my chance to join in when Kiri dropped her tennis ball, sadly its hard to pick up a ball when you have a muzzle on. After a couple of hours and another nap we set off again. Finally we were home. After a short walk we all had a nap and then went to bed.
