Dactylorhiza traunsteineroides (=traunsteineri) Narrow-leaved Marsh Orchid Nationally Scarce

A native perennial orchid of marshes, water meadows and fens with calcareous ground water. Often found in the wettest flushes where there is reduced competition. Restricted to fens in the Waveney/Ouse valley at Market Weston and Carlton Marshes. It appears to be threatened by hybridisation with D. praetermissa and may soon be lost as a pure species. Most of the East Anglian population of this species is in Norfolk.
