Every bird lover who lives in Suffolk, or visits the County regularly should own this book. The Systematic list covers in considerable detail the past and present status and distribution of over 330 species, of which 126 breed regularly in the County. The book includes sections on the physical features of the County and their relation to bird life; the influence of agriculture and forestry; bird reserves and areas of special ornithological interest. There are chapters on migration and on the coast and countryside 70 years ago. The changes that have taken place in the distribution and status of many species are fully covered and information and records for the book have been provided by more than 100 observers.
