Golden Wonder Limited

Golden Wonder Limited are a Leading Manufacturer of Crisps, Snacks and Peanuts. Founded in 1947 by a Scottish Baker, William Alexander, Golden Wonder are one of the UKs Major Manufacturers and Suppliers of Savoury Snacks.  Golden Wonder were the first British company to introduce Ready Salted Crisps. Always in the forefront of innovation Golden Wonder were the first Major Crisp Manufacturer to introduce flavours to Potato Crisps starting in 1962 with the introduction of Cheese & Onion.

In the 1970's Golden Wonder launched Wotsits, one of the most successful children's snacks today.  The take-over of Sooner Snacks in 1987 bought two more major Snack Brands to the company; Wheat Crunchies and Nik Naks. These Major Snack Brands, together with Golden Lights, a low fat crisp that actually tastes like a crisp, as well as the Golden Wonder Crisps form the basis of the Company  Brands today.

In October 1995 a Management Buy Out Team headed by Clive Sharp bought Golden Wonder from Dalgety for £55m. The buy out was backed by a group of investors led by Legal & General Ventures. In May 1998 Golden Wonder announced a £30m investment which includes improvements in many areas especially its Scunthorpe Factory. Golden Wonder are now pleased to announce the launch of their Custom Vending Machines.
