This guide was produced using proposals developed by D.R Helliwell and which were originally published in the Arboricultural Journal in 1967. The system is usually known as the Helliwell system and is designed to assist a professional in calculating a monetary value for a single tree or group of trees.
The booklet is divided into the following sections.
