This guide was written to assist those professionals engaged in
implementing tree preservation orders (i.e local authorities). The book offers a quality
assurance procedure to ensure TPO's are correctly served. This publication also forms part
of a SORP training program - see SORP ISA Europe for more details..
- Section 1. 'The Broadland Experience'. A copy of Broadland
District Councils Supplementary Planning Guidance which deals with the protection of
trees. Includes relevant policies and their justification.
- Section 2. A typical Tree Preservation Order. A hard copy
(printed) of the digitised template.
- Section 3. A Quality Assured Handling System. A hard copy of the
digitised template which enables a TPO to be managed on a personal computer (or on paper).
The system uses a check list approach that ensures that all aspects of the TPO
implementation procedure has been correctly followed.
- Section 4. Letter Manager. A hard copy of the digitised template
which enables the easy management of the numerous letters, required for TPO
implementation, to be tracked.
- Section 5. Template Letters. Examples of letters required for TPO
implementation. 44 examples are included covering items such as service of order,
confirmation of order, objections to order, confirmation of order with modifications,
non-confirmation of order.
