Braindead

I bought this film for £3.99 in a clearout sale in HMV. It was worth it though... as a fan of Peter Jackson's Bad Taste, I thought I'd check this one out, because it looked equally as pish. It doesn't start off as good as Bad Taste, but it ends up a lot better.
It's about Lionel, an annoying guy who's a bit of a mummy's-boy. One day, he goes into the greengrocers and the girl behind the till, Paquita, falls in love with him (yeah, only because some gypsy person told her to), and they goto the zoo as a date. Yeah, good job, Lionel...way to romance her. Lionel's mother is overprotective and follows them, hiding in the bushes, and she gets bitten by some weirdo rat monkey (which had, beforehand, just socked some other monkey in the face like a pair of socks).
She gets this weird plague thing, and she dies, but becomes a zombie. She begins eating other people who become zombies too. Eventually, loads of people are zombified, like the local nurse, the local vicar (who beats loads of people up at one point) and some punker dude. Lionel tries to keep them all in his house, and tranquilizes them often to try and keep them sedated. Eventually, however, all the zombies start eating everyone and Lionel ends up using a lawnmower to kill them all.
This fantastic horror/comedy also has a little cameo from Peter Jackson, who was the star and director of Bad Taste.
But, beware, this film is kinda disgusting...there are parts that'll put you off your dinner.
