Friday The 13th Part V : A New Beginning
As reviewed by Miguel Cowabunga5 Kesey
Jason is back! Well, naw he's no', because he died in Part IV, but that's irrelevant. This is about Tommy, the baldy Corey Feldman of Part IV, now a full-grown teen who is a bit of a mental case. He's at a minimum (in fact, very little) security mental camp (!?) due to his ferocious temper turns and general Kerplunk-ness.
The story begins when a fat bastard is killed by one of the other in-mates for being a bastard. And then other killings begin in a Jason-like manner.
That's basically all there is to this story...we're supposed to think it's Tommy doing the killing since he's emotionally disturbed after shaving his head, joining a rock band called : "Die, Jason, Die" and touring the States, but, we know otherwise, despite Tommy being on the cover of the box wielding a big machete.
It ends up that it's someone else dressed up as Jason killing everybody.
Anyway, the hero of the film is a wee dude called Reggie The Reckless who wears a big red tracksuit, and runs like a fucker on fire when Jason's on the scene. He also leaps like a lion onto people quite hilariously. Ultimately, however, he drives a tractor (with his hood up, because it's raining) into Jason...what a guy. He's now one of my heroes.
Oh, and there's a guest appearance from Spider from "The Return Of The Living Dead"... he's called Demon in this film though, and he goes to take a shit while singing "Oooh, baby, oooh, baby"...great stuff. He gets spiked though, like an impaled priest on magic mushrooms.
Pretty shit film, but entertaining all the same...
