Stuart House
~PARKING~
Edinburgh is a very old city and the centre was not originally designed with motor cars in mind. That is part of the attraction of it. The result is that there is inadequate and expensive ( but possible ) parking available. Getting around by car can be slow since it often means negotiating the hazards of one-way systems and traffic calming measures.
As Stuart House is situated in a good central location, guests do not require a car to get around the sites and attractions. When necessary, taxis and buses are available and are inexpensive for short journeys. It is, therefore, not advisable to bring a car to see the city. If you must arrive by car it is advisable to find a convenient parking space and leave the car there for the duration.
Bellevue Crescent
There
is no parking reserved for Stuart
House. We are a city
centre town house. However, East Claremont Street has unrestricted
parking and as such is the last street approaching the city centre
which has free parking. This makes it very busy. Guests can usually
find a space, but not necessarily outside the front door. Bellevue
Crescent provides parking at a small charge. Guests
are advised to drop off their luggage and then find a space, which in
practice is not generally too far away. Cars are quite safe if
valuables are not left on display and may be left for the duration of
the visit.
