
Job Title: Head of Theatre
KAREN PALMER - trained at Warwick University in Theatre, before completing her Masters Degree in Contemporary Theatre Practice at Lancaster University. She co-founded Diva Women's Theatre Company and performed in and directed many productions including: VINEGAR TOM, WOMEN ON WAR, TOP GIRLS, CAMILLE and FIND ME. Her extensive workshop experience includes workshops with disability groups , which were developed into performance at the 1993 Dorothy Heathcote Conference. She has also developed youth arts courses, outreach work for The National Youth Music Theatre's production of WARCHILD and a workshop programme for teachers at Reading University. Karen has directed award winning street theatre performances in Surrey as well as devising and performing in a variety of TIE projects across the country. Recent London directing credits include: POPPY, LONELY HOUSE, OLIVER TWIST and ABIGAIL'S PARTY.
Karen is Head of Theatre at North Westminster Community School, London's largest comprehensive school . She is also joint artistic director of Studio Youth Theatre.
