BETH CINAMON - trained as a professional contemporary dancer at the London Contemporary Dance School and has since had a varied career promoting and managing companies and organisations specializing in the performing arts. She was administrator for the Academy of Indian Dance and company manager for Imlata Dance Company where she was responsible for tour booking, fundraising, and all management duties including a European tour as part of Banc d'Essai International. She has spent quite some time in India first as an organiser for Attakkalari, a one month performing arts workshop involving Indian and European performing artists. In 1995 she was Awarded a Lisa Ullmann Scholarship to research contemporary dance in India and she traveled the country observing the work of 12 choreographers which contributed to a comprehensive report. She is an active and committed dance promoter and supporter, and has succeeded in raising substantial funds for dance. She is also an assessor for the London Arts Board's dance department. In September 1997 she was the winner of the Blitz 97 Dance Writers' Course and her work was published for the first time. Since 1993 she has been the coordinator of the Studio Theatre where she is responsible for programming, fundraising, marketing and publicity. She initiates professional associated educational programmes for young people, and coordinates international festivals specialising in contemporary South Asian and South East Asia work.
