The two parishes are in Lochaber, in the southern highlands of Scotland. The Parish of Ardnamurchan is the most westerly parish on the UK mainland - next stop west is North America. To the north-east of Ardnamurchan lies the Parish of Acharacle. In all, about 50 miles from east to west, and about 12 miles north to south. |
The total population of both parishes (1991 Census, and excluding sheep & deer) is 825 (with 668 in Acharacle Parish and 157 in Ardnamurchan Parish). |
