Might and Magic VI
The Mandate of Heaven

Might and Magic VI is a TRUE non-linear roleplaying game, and is one of the best games I have ever played!

As can be seen on the picture to the left, the game uses the tradition stats (Personality takes to place of wisdom/charisma for paladins, clerics and druids as their most important stat). You have 4 characters, and can select from about 30 different portraits.  The professions, called class in this game, are listed in the bottom left corner of the picture:
Knight - very good with weapons, but can never use magic,
Paladin - a kind of cross between a knight and a cleric though not as strong in either, they can use magic,
Cleric - can use priestly spells from the magics of Mind, Body and Spirit,
Archer - is a mage (sorcerer) who can wear some armour and use more weapons, though not as strong,
Sorcerer - is a mage who can use Elemental spells from Earth, Air, Fire and Water,
Druid - is a cross between Cleric and Sorcerer, though not as strong as either.

As well as the normal magics: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Mind, Body and Spirit, there are two other kinds of magic: Light and Dark; only Clerics and Sorcerers can use the latter two's spells.

This is an inscreen shot - your four characters are along the bottom; the green line represents health, the blue line represents mana (magic points).  The entire continent, which is devided up into HUGE sections, is totally 3D - its a virtual reality, with COOL graphics, which for a RPG is unheard of!

This game is an absolute must!  If you buy no others this year, get this one!
