Academic and Welfare Secretary      The Academic and Welfare secretary, Nicole Meardon, is one of the Union's Sabbatical Officers, who are elected by students at the beggining of the Spring Semester each year.



One of the main roles of the Academic & Welfare secretary is to co-ordinate and support student representation in departments and faculties and to provide support and information for individual students and student course reps on academic issues. .. Nicole is also a member of several important University committees, such as Teaching Committee and Senate, which discuss policy for the University on issues such as teaching quality, degree classifications and provision of personal tutors.  It is therefore useful for her to know about any issues in your department that might need raising at a higher level.            Created by Timothy D Longson (1998)
