Some Thoughts
( Admittedly - after 20 years of dealing with Bandleaders,
 these thoughts are a little bit biased ! )

Bandleaders are like hedges - pretty, but useless. Only good for
 hiding the beauty of what is behind them.
 In this case - the BAND !!

It is alleged that all Bandleaders and Music Critics are failed instrumentalists
 and who am I to disagree ?

 Some say that Bandleaders are like Leeches - living off
 the sweat of the Musicians. ( A bit like D.J.s really ?)

However, there is one very  notable exception  to the above
