 BIOGRAPHY

Theresa Lee was born in Hong Kong in 1970. She immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of six. She was educated there with the Canadian Education system that's why she speaks fluent English. Her mother tongue is (Toi San) but she her family also speak Cantonese. However, because she speaks English most of the time, her Cantonese isn't very good and fluent. But its improved since 1994.

Baby Theresa and her mother (don't they look alike?)

She came back to Hong Kong in 1994 as she was selected as a semi-final contestant in Miss Hong Kong 1994 Pageant. Her family helped her fill in the form as she wasn't sure whether to enter but after the support from friends and family she felt confident to enter.

In the first few months of the pageant she gave the press a very good reputation and she was always willing to communicate. She soon received the award for Miss Hong Kong 1994 Best Press Contestant. This proves that she is a very communicative, friendly person.

On the night of the semi-finals she seemed to be very confident and smiled allot. The audience liked her very much because of her influent Cantonese and outgoing personality. She successfully won a place for the twelve finalists to enter the Finals.

She became the star of the Finals show as she proved that she was the Miss Hong Kong that directors would be looking for. Her cute personality showed up all of the other contestants as she was very funny. Even though her Cantonese wasn't good she tried very hard to get her point straight across. The panel of judges and audience were stunned by her performance as it gave them a night to remember and there was laughter everywhere.

These are the questions she had to answer when competing in the final five event.

1. She was selected by Halina Tam (The winner of Miss Hong Kong 1994) in that event to have plastic surgery. (The Rememberable Conversation):

Halina: Theresa, you said to me before that you didn't like the shape of your face so have you ever thought of having plastic surgery?

Theresa: No, I haven't, I think it is a very dangerous thing, I think I am ok not too bad.

Halina: But now the Surgeons are very safe now, you are 80% now so if you have it done you will be 100%.

Theresa: Yes, maybe. But I am very afraid of the result it may leave me with, like infections. What if my nose came off what would I do?

Halina: You will be so pretty that you won't have any infections. Be confident in yourself.

Theresa: Ok, I will have plastic surgery.

2. It was Theresa's turn to select someone this time and she selected Halina again. This time Theresa had to persuade Halina to stop thinking she was better than herself. (First she appeared to be rather confused to what she was asking but soon she got the idea.)

Theresa: Halina, You know that I am better than you, so why don't you admit it.

Halina: But eversince High school I have been the best at everything. So I cannot say your better them me.

Theresa: but you didn't go to High school with with me. (Audience laughter)

Halina: But now you are.

Theresa: ok, now we are. Well why don't you give me some face.

Halina: If I give you face I will let my fans down.

Theresa: I know you have many fans, but i think I have too, right? (Audience Applause)

Halina: Ok, if you have so many friends I will let you be better than me.

3. Maggie Cheung selected Theresa to ask her to cry (The best bit of the show)

Maggie: Theresa, is there anything that makes you unhappy, cause the other contestants have gone back stage as they couldn't get into the last five?

Theresa: Yes, I have many feelings, I have lost a few friends. (Audience Laughter)

Maggie: But don't you feel soppy and wanna cry?

Theresa: No, I am very cool I don't cry easily.

Maggie: But you can use this night as it's the last night we will be together.

Theresa: There isn't anytime to redo makeup. (Audience laughter)

Maggie: But the backstage makeup artists can do that for us.

Theresa: Your right, but it's not that good, redoing makeup makes it look patchy.

Maggie: That's ok, I',m sure they will do a good job for us. And it's ok for the last night don't you have any feelings.

Theresa: I have many feelings, I afraid when I win I have to pay for everyone when having dinner.

(Maggie couldn't persuade her, which made the audience applause).

This event had given Theresa the most points and she had won Miss Hong Kong 1994 Second runner up.

Soon she took part in a TV series called "Hoi Sam Wah Ji Lei" a comedy. Her appearance gave TVB very good ratings and she soon won the hearts of TV fans. Lee Tim Shing a TVB director gave her the opportunity to play the part in 1995's ancient drama " The Condor heros and Kwok Seurn. She looked very cute and pretty playing this part, but she did have problems in remembering the Chinese script.

Many movie directors invited her to play parts in their movies giving her a place in the Cinema field. From 1994 to 2000 she has starred in about 18 movies already. She has even been selected in the "Hong Kong Oscar Awards" list but she didn't win any awards. This proves that her acting has been approved.

In 1996 she went on travel programmes presenting with "Tsoi Lan " a well know chef. She has worked with him many times and has visited many countries. Italy, England, China etc.

Recently, in 1999 she was selected to play the part as Little Chilli Cheung Ching in Taiwanese TV series " Handsome Siblings" and this was the first time she had actually worked in a Taiwanese Channel. The series gave high ratings and was soon broadcasted on "ATV's Channel" .

She made friends with Jimmy Lin, Alec Su, Chan Dak Yung, Hau Bing Ying, Kevin Cheng etc...However, she is starring in a new Taiwanese series with Jimmy again in "Luk Siu Fung"or "Lu Xiao Feng" this time not playing a couple. But because they are good pals they don't mind and are happy that they meet again.
