Alonso steers Renault to F1 glory
World champion Fernando Alonso won the China Grand Prix to help Renault claim their first constructors' title. Alonso, who started on pole, finished ahead of McLaren rival Kimi Raikkonen in an incident-packed race in Shanghai.

Raikkonen steals Japanese GP win
Kimi Raikkonen stormed from 17th on the grid to overtake Giancarlo Fisichella on the final lap and claim a thrilling win in the Japanese GP. But Renault leapfrogged McLaren in the constructors' championship as Fisichella's team-mate Fernando Alonso completed the podium in third.

Alonso clinches Formula One title
Renault's Fernando Alonso became the youngest ever Formula One champion by taking third place behind Juan Pablo Montoya in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Alonso needed to finish on the podium to secure the title and achieved his objective despite an early slip.

Raikkonen keeps title hopes alive
Kimi Raikkonen kept the championship title race alive for another two weeks with victory at the Belgian Grand Prix. His McLaren team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya led for most of the race only to crash out just after Raikkonen had taken the lead after a late pit stop.

Montoya holds off Alonso for win
McLaren's Juan Pablo Montoya won the Italian Grand Prix as Fernando Alonso extended his championship lead over Kimi Raikkonen by finishing second. Raikkonen had to change a damaged tyre on his McLaren as he fought up from 11th on the grid but still finished fourth after a one-stop strategy.

Raikkonen seals Turkish triumph
Kimi Raikkonen surged to victory in the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix ahead of championship leader Fernando Alonso. Raikkonen regained the lead on lap one and was never threatened again, reducing Alonso's lead to 24 points.

Winner Alonso hails 'perfect day'
Renault's Fernando Alonso described his victory in the German Grand Prix as a "perfect day" after title rival Kimi Raikkonen retired when leading. "It was obviously a fantastic day. I did my perfect race," the Spaniard said after establishing a 36-point over his McLaren rival in the championship.

Montoya triumphs at Silverstone
Juan Pablo Montoya won his first race for McLaren after a tense duel with Renault's Fernando Alonso at the British Grand Prix. Montoya, who started third, took the lead from Alonso with a brave move into the Maggotts corner on the first lap.

Alonso eases to Magny-Cours win
Fernando Alonso maintained his grip on the Formula One drivers' battle with an emphatic win at the French Grand Prix. Championship leader Alonso led from start to finish to become the first Renault driver to win a home Grand Prix since Alain Prost in 1983.

Schumacher claims farcical US win
Michael Schumacher claimed a hollow win in a farcical US Grand Prix, with just six cars taking part. Because of the Michelin tyre safety row the only cars on the starting grid were those of Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi.

Raikkonen profits as rivals trip
McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen won a dramatic Canadian Grand Prix to breathe life back into the world championship. The Finn reduced Fernando Alonso's lead to 22 points - the Renault driver having retired with a broken suspension after hitting the wall while leading.

Alonso grabs win from Raikkonen
Renault's Fernando Alonso won the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring after long-time leader Kimi Raikkonen's McLaren crashed on the last lap. Raikkonen's car was crippled in the closing laps with a badly damaged right front tyre, which was sending strong vibrations through the suspension.

BAR and Button get two-race ban
The BAR team has been banned for two races for running an underweight car at the San Marino Grand Prix. An appeal court of motorsport's ruling body the FIA also stripped BAR of the 10 points won by Jenson Button and team-mate Takuma Sato at Imola.
