TEACHERS PRAISE OUR WORK

Teachers have continued to praise the work we have carried out in their lessons throughout the past 12 months, making our ever expanding schools programme a great success to date.  During the first half of 1996, we were working with an average of 135 students a week and although numbers towards the end of 1996 were slightly lower, we have continued to educate and support pupils with Religious Education and Personal and Social Education subjects.

'Excellent Delivery of material, each lesson was well planned, documented and effectively delivered.  The educators knowledge was a tremendous asset and the delivery of PSE was excellent.'

Religious Education

Religious Education continues to be the major focus of our schools programme.  Using the latest in RE resources, we assist teachers in giving students an understanding of how the Christian faith influences people and their behaviour today.  Majoring on the life of Christ from His birth to His accension, teachers have been able to choose from a range of 40 lesson plans designed exclusively for our RE programme.

Personal and Social Education

Our Personal and Social Education programme has recently benefited from an investment in new resources.  This programme tackles subjects like Drug, Alcohol and Solvent Abuse, HIV and AIDS and homelessness.  These highly interactive lessons are designed to empower young people in making decisions about their behaviour and form part of our crisis prevention programme.

Lessons designed for every class

Every student is important to our TIC Education Department, which is why every lesson since 1994 has been uniquely developed to suit the age, ability and needs of the specific class, or classes we have been teaching.  This is achieved mainly using our own RE resources and spending many hours in consultation with teaching staff.

1997 will bring more expansion including additional topics including bullying and conflict resolution.  More details in the next addition of 'FOCUS' ONLINE.
