INTRODUCTION

Teens in Crisis was founded in 1994 by its current Chief Executive, Nathan Jones 'to work towards the prevention of crisis in young people and support young people who are experiencing crisis'.

Teens in Crisis has now been operating for over 3 years, yet today with thousands of young people facing crisis, and thousands more at risk from it, we believe our work is more vital than ever.

Teens in Crisis currently operates throughout Gloucestershire and South Herefordshire providing a number of services, including work in schools, youth activity projects, and advice,Support and Care Services.  Since 1994, we have worked with over 1000 young people.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To work towards the prevention of Crisis in young people through quality education programmes in schools and by providing youth work projects in local communities.

To assist the needs of young people, parents and families experiencing crisis through our advice, support and care-services.  This includes providing information, telephone helplines, an advocacy service and ongoing personal support.

To help young people face the challenges of today, and prepare them for those of tomorrow.

To provide young people with the support they need to successfully go through the transition from adolescence into adulthood.

In addition, to provide a specialist service to Christian young people supporting them in the development of their faith as they go through the transition from adolescence into adulthood.

To carry out work as a practical expression of the Christian faith in partnership with youth work organisations, schools, churches, local authorities and other voluntary groups.
