TID 172, commissioned in 1946, is a steam driven harbour tug. She is based at Mistley in Essex on the river Stour (UK) and is being run by the same small preservation group that has been operating her since 1980.The vessel is in steam several weekends each year and usually makes at least one extended passage annually.
