T I D 172 Latest News - October 2008
TID 172 has had her last weekend in steam this season and is now laid up for winter in the mud berth at Mistley. The reason for an early finish this season is because the 10 year boiler survey is again due. At the end of the last trip in August the boiler was blown down with the last of the boiler pressure. The fire side has now also been cleaned out and work can start on preparation for the survey.
There is an impressive website being developed by the owner of TID 164 and looks as if it will be the definitive source for the history of TID tugs also with a comprehensve list of all tugs built. Well done guys.
