TRACING THE ORIGINS OF THE FAMOUS SPEECH OF CHIEF SEATTLE

There has been a great deal of controversy about
the exact words Chief Seattle said in his
famous speech in 1854. As it turns out, there have
actually been many adaptations of Seattle's original
speech throughout the years. The "Bogus Speech"
(TLT No.6) was based on the most famous
version of Chief Seattle's speech written by Ted Perry,
a theatre arts professor and playwright at the University
of Texas. Perry had heard an adaptation of the speech
that had been delivered in an address by William
Arrowsmith during Earth Day in 1970 .."...more....
