Swarf live

SWARF Swarf are a three piece electronic band hailing from Brighton, England consisting of Andrew Stock; ex vocalist, drum programmer and bassist with the gothic punk band Gadarene Swine, Liz Green; ex vocalist with dance pop outfit Digitalis and Chris Kiefer; the man behind techno project Chaosphere.

Originally a two piece outfit, founder members Andrew (keyboards / programming) and Liz (lyrics/vocals/music) spent the first two years of the bandıs existence developing and defining their distinct sound amidst various live appearances in their home town.

More recently, with the increased breadth of talent and furthered live dynamic afforded by the addition of third member Chris (keyboards / programming), Swarf have ventured out into the national arena to much critical acclaim.

Liz & Andrew

What theyıve come up with is an intriguing mix of melancholic atmosphere, danceable beats, strong vocals and sweeping melodies. They fully understand the various genres of music that have influenced their work and as a result have created something new, yet mature. Their rhythms are compulsive, the melodies infectious and Lizıs passionate vocal performance is truly outstanding; but on top of all that, what really sets them apart from their contemporaries is the fact that Swarf really know how to write songs, which is something sadly lacking in most of today's electronic music.

Live; the band have played with such noteables as Killing Miranda, Inertia, Digitalis, Attrition and Sneaky Bat Machine, with an increasingly positive audience response. Most recently, they played with Manuskript and Passion Play at the Camden Underworld which generated huge interest in the band and subsequently negotiations are underway with an independant record label.

Michael Johnson (Nemesis Promotions), wrote:

"...So nice to see a band who do the electro-goth thing properly. Their secret weapon is Liz who can do that mysterious thing called singing and the electronix have *just* the right amount of light, shade and space..."
