The Rossendale Rambler

Several members of our regular walkers took part in the Rossendale Way in a Day walk recently, some doing the half-distance walk whilst others tackled the full 46 miles on a day that was an absolute scorcher. With temperatures in the 80’s, walkers were subjected to grueling conditions and the order of the day was to take liquid onboard on a very regular basis.

Completing the full walk were seasoned walkers Keith Pickup, Susan Wilkinson and Elaine Eccles. Keith has done a lot of long-distance walking as has Susan who has tackled this particular challenge previously. Elaine raised some £300 for a hospice appeal by her efforts. The half distance was tackled by Hugh McCaw and Sheila Goggins, whose letter in respect of another walk, is printed elsewhere in this newsletter. Congratulations to you all - well done!
