A.G.M.1999 - Treasurer/Membership Sec. Report

TREASURER'S REPORT
Thanks to the generosity and hard work of several of our members, our finances are in a far healthier state than they have ever been since the inception of this Group in 1995. I would like to thank Sheila for contributing Ł36.00 from her sponsored walk and Joan and Malcolm for organising the Car Boot Sale. I should also mention Walter Waide's ingenuity in composing and selling his memoirs of the Ireland expedition which raised Ł65 towards the cost of providing ink jet cartridges for the printing of the Rossendale Rambler. (n.b. If any member wishes to inspect the accounts for the year, as presented at the AGM, should contact the Treasurer who will be pleased to provide it. Ed.)

MEMBERSHIP ORGANISER'S REPORT
We started the year ending 30 September 1998 with 102 members. Thirteen resigned, moved or failed to renew. We recruited seven new members during the year so our total membership now stands at 96. I have had eleven enquiries during the year. We need to consider having a further recruitment exercise and this should be a priority for discussion at our next Committee Meeting.
