Welcome to Issue 10 of Hypotenews! We've spent a while perfecting this issue, and this is why: there are fantastic articles on sequences which converge to pi, the problems associated with using DNA profiling to solve crime and useless ways to learn people's phone numbers. There's a great competition with a prize of 10 pounds, and the program for drawing the Mandelbrot Set on a graphical calculator. As well as loads more.

And a first: this is the first ever issue of Hypotenews to be published on Sci-Net, and on the Maths Department Computers. To find these great versions with extra bits, just follow the links.

If you like this issue of Hypotenews, and would like to help out, either writing articles, or doing some desktop publishing, then get in touch with one of the team. (just a thought, but when it comes to filling in your UCAS form, putting Hypotenews down looks great.)
