The WALOC Fantasy League will run for 38 weeks from the beginning of the season. There will be an entrance fee of £6 (£5 to Trust members - quote your Trust membership number) to cover administration charges and raise funds for the Trust. There will also be a prize for the winners. The scoring system will be the same as this season. You will get one point each for every goal any of your team scores. You will lose one point for every goal conceded by your goalkeeper and the balance will be your 'goals for' that week. (NB Your goalkeeper is whoever is in goal for the team your keeper plays for, i.e. if you choose James of Liverpool and the reserve team keeper plays and concedes a goal you still lose a point.) Therefore there is no point trying to pull a flanker by choosing Lincoln's Youth Team keeper because the goals CoCo lets in will count against you. The Fantasy League will be run on 'League' lines again. There will be twenty teams in each Division and as many divisions as required. A fixture list will drawn up, each team playing their opponents 'home' and 'away'. Giving a total of 38 'matches'. How will it work? Each week (Friday through to Thursday) your Fantasy points will be translated into 'goals for'. i.e. if you get three Fantasy points, you will have scored three goals, and your opponent has two Fantasy points. You will have won 3-2. If a team has minus points in a week, to get that score to 'nil', the number needed will be added to their opponents total. To give some credence to home & away fixtures, the 'home' team will be credited with one goal as a home advantage. examples:- i) team A (at home) has 4 fantasy points and team B (away) has 2 fp's. Team A wins 5-2 ii) team A (at home) has 0 fp's and team B (away) has 1 fp. The score then is 1 - 1. iii) team A (at home) has 2 fps and team B has minus 1 fp. Team A wins 4-0 (2fps, + home goal, plus the number of goals required to get team B to nil) iv) team A (at home) has -3, Team B has -2. The score is 0-0. Team A has +1 for home advantage to give -2. Both sides need 2 goals to make their scores nil, hence the 0-0. If all of this season's participants continue next year then the bottom three of Division One will be relegated and replaced by the top three of Division Two, if, however, not all take part then relegation will not be enforced, and as many as are required from Division Two will be promoted. (i.e. if one team higher up the league drops out, only two teams will be relegated, and three will still be promoted.) The same rules will apply from Division Two to Three. You may have as many teams as you wish, the charge for any second and subsequent teams will be £3. The team line-up is made up of keeper, two defenders, three midfielders and five forwards. You can select up to three Premier League players (only two if you choose a Premier keeper from the following - Man. Utd., Newcastle, Liverpool, Blackburn, Arsenal, Aston Villa) the remaining players can come from any division of the Nationwide League - with a maximum of three players from any one club (one exception is Cobblers players - you can have the entire Cobblers team if you want!) Players positions are determined by their positional appearance in the most recent Rothmans. (The editor's decision in any dispute is final). You will be allowed a maximum of three transfers throughout the season (but only exchanging like for like). Transfer deadline as per the Football League operates. (Photo copies acceptable) - (Current entrants will receive entry forms with the final league tables) With a cheque made out to WALOC for the entry fee - if you wish your results and tables posted to you weekly then send a further £11 (first class post plus envelopes) or £8.75 (second class) Results and tables will appear weekly on the WALOC Website, as will a copy of the rules.
