Katie is probably the most accomplished horse at Clyn Du. She is a 15.3hh chestnut thoroughbred and is owned by Adrian and Alexa. One claim to fame was her feature in the September 1999 edition of "Your Horse", along with Adrian, of course! Katie competes in most local events and competitions and travels as far afield and Malvern and Chepstow. Katie - registered name Wysiwyg - has had a good year to open the millennium. She was part of the four horse team that won the National Indoor Jumping Championships at Brooksby College, with Alexa on board, and she won a prestigious West Wales event at Bowlings, Haverfordwest, this time with Adrin at the helm. Adrian and Alexa hope to affiliate her soon.
Katie is a lounge lizzard! All horses are individuals and Katie is certainly that! She enjoys nothing more than being brought into her stable in the morning to sleep-off the night's excesses! See below for a truely relaxed mare! Don't be fooled though - she is a very lively ride and super-intelligent. She has to be kept busy and is full of surprises!
Penny is an old lady of 29 but you would never think it! She is a very responsive mare and a school favourite. These days, she is only ridden a couple of times a week and always by adults. She shows little evidence of her age!
Gem is a black Welsh cob mare and stands at 14.3hh. She has a placid temperament, although she can be a drama queen at times - especially when facing a jump! She arrived at Clyn Du as a very green 7 year old, having been broken and put straight into foal. Her willingness to learn has been a great advantage though, and after a year at the centre she has imporved tremendously.
Annie is Verona's new mare. She is a 16hh HanovarianX chestnut. She is adjusting to her new environment at the moment but should be seen on the competition circuit next year.
Cassie is a 15.3hh bay mare - TBX, owned by Wendy, who works at Clyn Du. Wendy's daughter Sarah should soon be competing on her.
