Dear Peter,
I came to London at the age of 21 and ended up, on my first day, at a pub on Whitehall called The Clarence, where I subsequently found a job behind the bar, like many other South Africans, Aussies, Kiwis and Zimbabweans before me! It was there that I met you and I remember very fondly the conversations you, my mate Steven and I had while we polished your bell!
Congratulations on your 30th anniversary as London Town Crier! And may you ring her bell for many years to come.
Kind regards,
Jennifer Ward |
