The Queen's
80th Birthday
Several months
ago we were approached by a respected London
newspaper to create a special card for the Queens
80th birthday which would be the centre piece of a
parade through the city. Working closely with
Watermark the 2ft by 3ft card depicting an English
rose was created.
Several pages
were distributed throughout the city during March
which were signed by the public and the members of
the livery companies. Mike Bugler, Managing
Director took it to Mansion House where it was
signed by the lord Mayor. In total the card
eventually contained over 3000
signatures.
On the 21st
April. the Queens birthday, the procession
assembled in Paternoster Square. It consisted of
the Westminster college band, over 50 standard
bearers from the British Legion, Mayors from
several London boroughs and representatives from
livery companies, also many Pearly Kings &
Queens from London's East End plus over 500 members
of the Public.
Mike Bugler, who
was representing Clinton Cards on the procession,
was
invited to go
with the London Mayors to present the card to one
of the Queen's equerries at the gates of Buckingham
Palace.
