Tramlink celebrated its
fifth birthday yesterday
(Tuesday).
The tram service, which
links Croydon with Wimbledon and
Beckenham, officially opened on May 10,
2000.
In honour of the
system's anniversary the Mayor of London's
town crier, Peter Moore, traveled the
length of the system.
According to Tramtrack
Ltd, which runs the system, trams have
reduced unemployment in areas like
Fieldway and New Addington.
