A NEW shopping area in East Ham officially opened on Thursday with a display of pomp and the ringing of a bell.
London town crier Peter Moore attended the opening of Bargain Bazaar at what used to be Marks & Spencer in High Street North.
The unit now houses more than 100 traders selling goods from clothes and |
jewellery to food and fabric. Traders will man stalls inside, and outside at the rear of the building.
Tony Sherman, manager of Bargain Bazaar, said that he has leased the site from Marks & Spencer.
The store closed last year after company boses said it was losing too much money. |
