A MEMORIAL clock honouring 'Castle Point's longest serving member of Parliament has been officially unveiled.

The four-sided cast iron pillar clock is in memory of Lord Bernard Braine of Wheatley, who served as

MP for CaStle Point for 37 years. He died in 2000. The clock was unveiled in the presence of Jenny Tolhurst, the High Sheriff of Essex and London town crier Peter Moore.

Mike Kettley, vicar of St

Castle Point mayor Wendy Goodwin campaigned for months to raise funds for the £20,000 clock at the Victoria roundabout in Hadleigh.
