Thief steals festival charity's fake sheep

By Helen Smithson helen@southwarknews.org

THE CHARITY behind an arts festival staged over the weekend have appealed for the safe return of a fake sheep, worth hundreds of pounds, which was stolen from the event.

Creative Routes, the Camberwell charity behind 'Bonkersfest' - an artistic celebration of the positive side of mental illness, hired the life size, fibre glass, farm yard favorite from a stage prop company and will have

to foot the bill themselves unless it is returned.

Spokesperson Helen Maleed said: "They are really heavy to lift so must have been more than one person. I know it sounds comical but it was last seen being carried down Camberwell Church Street."

Saturdays event included a live music tent, food, voluntary sector stalls, rides, dancers and samba drummer, and the organization also hired fake zebras and cows for the day.

If you have any information, call Creative Routes on 0207 358 3138. No questions will be asked.
