Marlin pops the question |

ROMANCE filled the air in Covent Garden on Tuesday when a
marriage proposal was the main attraction in the famous piazza, writes Tom Foot.
Town Crier Peter Moore brought the square to a standstill broadcasting the arrival of two Canadians. Starry-eyed bride-to-be Bristy Lee Leonard, from Calgary, Canada, said "of course" when romantic Marlin Keith Glaspeypopped the question.
"I was a little suspicious when he asked me where my grandmother's wedding ring was the night before," she said afterwards.
The "considerable fee" given to the town
crier for the announcement could be donated to the Soho Parish School.
Mr Moore pointed out that this was a one-off and he was not providing a service.
He boomed: "This is the first and last time this has happened. 1 won't be doing this again - it was a one off. We will donate the money, probably the Soho Parish School."
