This book presents a readable
account of the various open hole log tools and the data they generate. In particular
it provides comprehensive geological interpretations of the derived data, enabling
the geologist to capitalise fully upon well log data. Early chapters consider
each of the principal open hole logging tools and measurements made are discussed
in terms of simple theory and acquisition of data. Integrated geological interpretations
are then described, with examples in the book being taken from all around the
world, although many originate from the North Sea. There are two completely new chapters (Dipmeter and Image logs) and many others have been rewritten or revised. Extensive use of colour reflects the technical advances in logging since earlier editions. |

'This book will be
invaluable to all undergraduate students of earth sciences with an interest in
hydrocarbon exploration. It will also be of enormous value to geologists, particularly
those without a strong geophysical background, working in this field.' Australian Mineral Foundation |
'This is an excellent
book for anyone who is involved with the technical aspects of exploration ad production.
The price of this book is very reasonable ... I strongly recommend this book and
believe that it will be an invaluable reference source' AAPG Bulletin |
