Thanks to the teams who turned up for the Meeting, it’s a shame there aren’t
more teams joining the Winter League We have finished up with 5 teams, as
Cottered entered an extra team, now referred to most ingeniously, as
Cottered ‘A’ and Cottered ‘B’. George and Dragon declined to enter a team.
Just to go through the items discussed:-

2. Minimum of 3 players per team. Normal format of 1
triple and 2 doubles. These games to be followed by 1 game of triples for
the Triples Trophy. Triples players do not have to be the same players
every week, just any three members of your team.
3. All players to be on piste at 11.30 a.m. for 11.45 a.m.
start. Pub is not required to provide food for Winter League.
4. It was decided that matches would be awarded on ‘points won’,
rather than ‘games won’. Rory will enter results on a similar basis to
Leagues who already implement this system. However, all results to be
entered in the normal way. In the event of a tie at the end of the season
other factors will be taken into account.
5. All results to be forwarded by the WINNING team no later than
following mid-week to Cliff/Shirley via E-mail at
cliff@snipeweston.freeserve.co.uk or Tel: 01462 790244. Triples competition
result to be entered at the same time, even if you were not the winners of
this game.
6. Presentations Day and Doubles Competition which is ONLY open to
members who played in the 2004/05 Winter League, to be held at THE
CRICKETERS, WESTON, ON SUNDAY 03 APRIL 2005. Further details of this day
will be provided closer to the date.
7. As there are an uneven number of teams, obviously one
team will not play on the first allocated date. Also, we accommodated the
Three Shires Winter League fixture dates. Taking these two factors into
consideration, it means that Cottered ‘A’ are not due to play until 12
December 2004, but obviously if they feel they (or their balls) are getting
‘rusty’ waiting that long, they can rearrange one of their games to an
earlier date. If the Three Shires League alters any of their fixtures to
clash with our dates, then anyone involved is asked to please let your
opponents know immediately. All should be aware that members of the Three
Shires League are unable to alter their dates as all teams play together on
the same day.
