The Three Shires Pétanque League
This was the original Greene King League in the district. It was started
with a nucleus of BPA players from the Pennant Midweek League to provide
more local competition. The formal committee structure allowed the league
to run with little GK help, until finally it obtained other sponsors. It used to change its
name to reflect new sponsors but has decided on a neutral name but gives
grateful recognition to sponsors by incorporating their names, logos
etc on all website pages and flyers and a URL on each League page.
It is open to any Club within 10 miles of its HQ at The Engine, Baldock.
All Clubs in the league must be affiliated to the EPA, but Club members do not need to hold EPA Licences (unless playing in EPA competitions).
Players may use leisure or DOG boules during the 1st year in the league.
The four divisions are competitive with Clubs being promoted and relegated each year.
