Snow Boules 2007
The first thing I noticed as I strolled to the terrain was that whatever pathetic organic windbreak there had been, had now disappeared! Players were now completely unprotected from the elements!

But stalwarts started practicing --

-- and watching some of the high points, made me wonder if the sheltering surround had been removed for the benefit of kite flyers

But things finally got going tho' in retrospect I'm a bit worried about that boule top centre!

-- and of course hoodies couldn't hear!
Meanwhile some managed to hold concentration despite what looked like flagrant disregard for Article 16
But manage he does - and do some fine pointing --
Funny how pointers always seem happy folk with well wishers willing the boule to land and hold shot.
How different from the nasty, evil intent of the shooter! But I mustn't castigate him -- it's only that he's young and I'm jealous.
But happily the sun did come out at times --
-- with the strange affect of causing people to hurry to measure things!
But it soon clouded over leaving a more leasurely pace to the game.
Oh yes -- I promised I'd show this shot. The cosh had been moved out to almost 20m. The point shown was not a plombé, it was a mighty hurl up the slope which miraculously took point to the right of the cosh!

OK -- perhaps not a miracle --- but I doubt he'd do it for bets!

I'm afraid I felt a little fragile so didn't play or even stay after lunch but ---

-- but I think this last shot sums up SnowBoule:

Windy!
Cold!
But friendly and fun!
