Mati Kivistik

Hailing from Estonia, Kivistik was taught guitar by gypsies in Moscow, going on to take formal lessons at the London Guitar Institute.
People often say that Mati's work sounds 'Eastern' but in fact Mati would say that he was most influenced by the Spanish and Finnish gypsies who themselves have hundreds of years of guitar tradition behind them. His distinctive style is unique and unparalleled.
Mati has worked in a number of bands including 'Romalo' (gypsy flamenco) and 'Zaltus Lumel' (alternative/indie). He has toured all over Europe, especially his homeland Estonia, Finland, Russia, and Sweden.
