Tiresias tells Oedipus that he is the one who's blind, because he can't see the corruption of his life: and when he does see it, he will become blind. He hints darkly at the secrets of Oedipus' marriage, and his parentage. Oedipus accuses him of talking in riddles. "Isn't solving riddles what you are good at?" mocks the old man.
