TA East Morning Gathering at the Osier Café in Stowmarket (TM049586) at around 11am,
Should you ride to the Middy, watch out for all the buses shuttling between the railway and the bus rally at Stonham Barns.
However, more tempting than a ride to the
Middy, could be a visit to Norwich Cycle Jumble.
This is at St Mary’s Works [TG227091] from 10am to
4pm. The 8:54 train from Stowmarket will get you there in plenty of
time for a couple of hours at the jumble before nipping around the corner
to the White
Lion.
Vintage Commercial Vehicles & Royal Enfield Owners at the Middy. Why not bring a trade bike, or a Royal Enfield bike, or even a Royal Enfield trade bike?
Monthly meeting at Rattlesden Five Bells, starting at about one o’clock.
A practice ride to the Middy before Spoke & Steam— it’s Model Mania & Hornby Collector’s Club Day.
A visit to the Bury St Edmunds beer festival
Assuming it’s the same as last year, a CamRA members’
preview session will open at 4pm.
Spoke and Steam: the annual event when we all
converge on the Middy.
We start from Stowmarket, V-CC Flat Section members
start from Walpole or Diss, and the Chickering Cycling Circle starts from
Horham (& not the car park at the Middy).
Our ‘spoke’ leaves Unity Road at 10:00, calls at Stowmarket Railway station
at 10:10, and Reeds Way in Stowupland a bit later depending on how long it
takes to struggle up the hill. The V-CC contingent from Walpole is
planning to get to the Middy at 11:00; we'll probably be a bit later but
can't go any earlier if we're going to collect anyone coming by train from
Bury.
V-CC Flat Section monthly meeting—Plan B.
Monthly meeting at Rattlesden Five Bells, starting at about one o’clock.
V-CC Flat Section monthly meeting—Plan A.
Bus (and train) trip to Whittlesea for the V-CC Old Soke
Section Cycle Jumble and The
Letter B; jumble starts at 11:00am at St Andrew’s
Parish Room, Whittlesey, PE7 1BZ (TL267969).
Pitches: £10; Entry £1. Cake (and other
refreshments) available.
The bad news is that—again—there are no trains to Whittlesea on this day;
it’s a rail replacement bus service from Bury. Leaving Stowmarket on
the 8:11 train to Bury, then going all the rest of the way by bus, gets us
there at 10:55 provided the bus turns up, doesn’t break down, and doesn’t
collide with any wildlife. Leaving two hours later gets us there in
time to turn around and come back home.
Monthly meeting at Rattlesden Five Bells, starting at about one o’clock.
Train trip to the Norwich Beer Festival.
We’ll get the ten to three train from Stowmarket to
take advantage of the ‘get in an hour earlier if you’re a CamRA member’
session. There is a train half-an-hour earlier if you want to be at
the front of the queue.

Monthly meeting at Rattlesden Five Bells, starting at about one o’clock.
V-CC Flat Section Mick Madgett’s Boxing Day Ride
starts from Mick’s shop in Diss [TM115801].
Mick will lead us on an interesting route to a pub—but
which one?
V-CC Flat Section monthly meeting—Plan B.
